MS Money 2003

Ok, got it all set up and you know what? I'm still alive. *barely* It was painful. Why? B/c I have an overwhelming dread of how over my means I've been living. Not necessarily via credit cards, 2 of the 3 are not even available to me, but by paying bill XYZ late, and bill ABC even later, I used that to buy my some time. Which bites me in the ass in the long run b/c of late fee and stuff.

But I'm going to be make an effort not to wimp out and make this part of my lifestyle once again. Many years ago I did everything by my quicken program. Knew where every penny was. Now I'm like, meh. Stomach churning when I use the card, mind wondering on if I'll have enough to make that major bill payment. Both tiring and draining.

So today, August 15th is my fresh start. I have a long way to go, quite a hill to dig myself out of, but I'm not going to run and hide anymore. Today I reclaim my finanical life. It'll take the next 30 days of me tracking what's going out and getting it all set up in MS Money 2003, things like gas, groceries (eating? ha!) and misc stuff, which is really nothing.

My goal is by 9/15 to have a better idea of what other things I spend money on and setting up a budget for the following month. I'll continue to tweak it just so.

So ya, this it how it starts. One day I'll look back on this day and be grateful I began to put the pieces in place to get my financial life back on track.
