Shock and Awe
Yet another topic I left hanging, forgive me for being a bad blogger. Anyhoo, shock and awe repayments, all it means for me is, rather than immediately make a payment, I keep it squirreled away in my savings account until I have enough to pay off the entire amount. Now, true financial whizzes can get on me about the whole interest thing. More than likely the interest I earn in the bank is a piddling compared to what I'm being charged for the debt.
Also more than likely if I can reduce the debt, even pennies, in the long run I'll end up paying less interest. Thing is, when you have as much debt as I do, it's pretty hard to split hairs over that fact of life. Plus, for me @ least, debt is extremely emotional. I have to do this in the least painful way, least stressful way, most emotionally reassuring way.
Plus, I dunno, I sort a like making huge payoffs like BAM BAM BAM. It makes me think some accountant is sitting @ his desk salivating on how much money I owe and as the amount reduces he's all like, "Oh no! Waitaminute! Stop it! Damn her to hell!!!!"
